I’ve been in quite the good mood lately. And there’s a simple reason why: The weather.
It’s been beautiful.
The gray clouds and overcast weather of the past few weeks have been replaced with crystal blue skies, wispy cotton bud clouds, and temperatures that have hovered in the 50-60F (10-15C) range — which makes walking around Paris incredibly enjoyable.
Here I present some recent photos of Paris’ blue skies, taken from my recent strolls through the city:
What I see on my commute to work and school every day. Even on a gloomy day, it’s pretty — but on a gorgeous day, this view makes my heart skip a beat.
Walks along the Seine on a Sunday afternoon.
It’s technically still winter, and the ice skaters at Hotel de Ville are still going strong!
Hello, Metro.
Rainbow graffiti — “Good weather comes after the rain.” (I was quite pleased that I could read the French!)
Blue on blue makes me smile. Now there’s a building I wouldn’t mind living in.
One of two churches in my neighborhood. I never see anyone actually going in though; only teenagers smoking outside on the steps.
A group of footballers took advantage of the warm temps to goof around and show off their dribbling skills in front of the Eiffel Tower.
The sun shining on Place Saint-Sulpice. I pass this every time I get a macaron fix at Pierre Herme, and I now have a pavlovian response of craving macarons whenever I see this photo.
A perfect afternoon: lounging in the sun and picnicking with friends at the Jardin de Luxembourg.
Reflections of a gorgeous blue sky at the Gardens.
Spring is coming!

March 1, 2012 at 02:33Beautiful photos, makes me quite envious that I’m so far away at the moment when I grew up being able to go to France (and even Paris) for the day. Admittedly with Paris it was a very long day but I don’t think I ever appreciated how lucky I was then.
