100 days.

I don’t write often (or really at all) about my journey towards my dream career of working in international sports media — particularly, with a certain quadrennial event. This is for both personal and professional reasons, but suffice it to say this goal has influenced many of my decisions in the last couple years, including my time in Shenzhen and Perth; it’s even why I moved to Paris.

So this will be a short post. However, today marks 100 days until the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, and I can’t let the day pass without acknowledging it — so to celebrate I wanted to share this excellent video by P&G:

How touching was that?

100 DAYS!

So I’ve seen this all over FB but hadn’t watched until now and of course am tearing up like crazy. I love a good anthemic ad like this one and unfortunately they don’t come out too often anymore except for big events like the Olympics. Plus now you have me so excited to watch the swimming and gymnastics… in French…

I wondered what you’d think of it, with your advertising background :) Hopefully I’ll be in London then, but I do wonder what the French TV commentary would be like…I watched Beijing 2008 while in Hong Kong and Shanghai and thought it was so different from US commentary!

I loved the video. I can’t believe the Olympics are finally just around the corner again! And in London! So close….

I know! I remember watching the Beijing Closing Ceremony and thinking, 2012? That is SO FAR AWAY. And now here I am just a Eurostar train away…

That is so awesome! Am just in London right now and am loving it here. There is definitely a looking-forward-to-the-Olympics vibe around that energises the city ever further.

Oh cool! I can’t wait to get to London this summer and just bask in the Olympic atmosphere. (not looking forward to Olympics-in-London prices though!)
